Inclusion & Belonging at Cotopaxi
As a brand that strives to break down the barriers to the outdoors and to travel through our products, Cotopaxi remains committed to being a workplace where all Llamas can belong, have a voice, and make a difference.
We believe that building and supporting diverse teams is critical to better represent our customers, and will ultimately lead to better performance in terms of our impact, innovation, efficiency and growth.
We are deeply invested in welcoming, embracing, and celebrating all people, regardless of gender, age, race, disability, nationality, ethnicity, faith, or sexual orientation.
Diversifying our team is essential and we’re actively taking steps to do so, including implementing the following practices:
- Adopting a remote-first work model allowing us to recruit diverse talent outside Utah.
- Partnering with diversity, inclusion, refugee and veteran focused specific job boards, organizations and communities.
- Providing transparent details on compensation and benefits on job postings.
- Utilizing an anonymous applicant evaluation tool to eliminate unconscious bias in our hiring process.
To foster a more inclusive and welcoming workplace, we’ve implemented regular executive sessions on inclusion, Employee Resource Groups, DEIBA-focused training, and anonymous surveys to gather feedback. Here are some of the tangible ways we strive to make Cotopaxi a better place to work for everyone, every day:
- Hold monthly “All Llamas” meetings, providing employees with a space to share ideas and concerns with senior leadership.
- Organize regular offsites where team members can connect, engage in meaningful conversations, and participate in fun activities.
- Uphold Cotopaxi's values in our daily interactions and ways of working, fostering collaboration as we drive our mission forward.
- Dedicated to Doing Good
“Do Good” is core to who we are, and we strive to hold our work environment to the same high standards we place on our products and our giving. 1% of our annual revenue is donated to the Cotopaxi Foundation. Our employees volunteer over 700 hours annually to nonprofits making a difference in our communities. We're a certified B Corp and a member of 1% for the Planet. We've also been recognized by Fortune, Fast Company, and Inc. Magazine as a ‘change the world’ business.
